Major update to the WireMock Python library and new Testcontainers module
Blog post from WireMock
Python WireMock has received a major refresh after several years of limited activity, adding improved support for WireMock Standalone, modernized development tooling and automation, ReadTheDocs documentation built with MkDocs, and preview integration with Testcontainers Python. Originally created as a Python API client and later donated to the WireMock community, the library now combines a CLI client with a Testcontainers module that can provision disposable WireMock Docker containers for integration testing. The release includes a pytest-based quickstart showing how to install the package, create a container-backed fixture, configure the WireMock Admin API, define a `/hello` stub returning HTTP 200, and validate it through a test request. Developed with contributions from Mike Waites and support from WireMock Inc. and original creator Cody Lee, the project seeks user feedback as it plans deeper pytest and other Python framework integrations.
