Windsurf's latest update, Wave 12, aims to enhance its IDE by integrating features from Devin, a powerful software engineering agent, to deliver a faster, smarter, and more reliable experience for developers. The update introduces DeepWiki, which improves codebase understanding with detailed function, variable, and class explanations, and Vibe and Replace, an AI-driven tool that contextually transforms code. Wave 12 also upgrades the Cascade agent with automatic planning and improved task management, and refines the Tab autocomplete with smarter suggestions and a less intrusive interface. The update includes a redesigned user interface with enhanced Chat and Cascade panels, over 100 stability and performance fixes, and support for development containers via remote access, all aimed at making Windsurf the most intelligent IDE for developers.
