SWE-1.5 is a newly released model designed for software engineering, optimized for performance and speed, with hundreds of billions of parameters achieving near state-of-the-art coding capabilities. Developed in partnership with Cerebras, it offers unprecedented speeds of up to 950 tokens per second, significantly faster than its predecessors, Haiku 4.5 and Sonnet 4.5, and is integrated into the Windsurf platform. This model aims to enhance coding efficiency by reducing response times, allowing engineers to maintain their workflow uninterrupted. SWE-1.5 has been rigorously tested internally to ensure it can handle complex coding scenarios and has been fine-tuned for Windsurf's tools. Additionally, critical components such as lint checking and command execution have been optimized to minimize overhead, benefiting all models within Windsurf. The improvements allow engineers to complete tasks much faster, with SWE-1.5 becoming the primary tool for many engineers due to its ability to handle complex tasks swiftly, thereby keeping users in their coding flow.
