Introducing our new Windsurf pricing plans

Windsurf is revamping its pricing structure by replacing its credit-based system with industry-standard usage quotas across its Free, Pro, and Teams plans, and introducing a new Max plan for power users, all effective March 19th, 2026. This change aims to simplify the user experience by providing a daily and weekly usage allowance to cover agent usage, with the option to purchase extra usage at API pricing if limits are exceeded. For existing subscribers, a free extra week is offered to test the new system, and current prices will remain unchanged for Pro and Teams users. The update addresses previous concerns where the credit model charged equally for simple and complex tasks, encouraging more interactive use without the fear of exhausting credits quickly. Usage consumption will vary based on task complexity and the models used, with estimates provided for message limits under different plans. Free users will automatically transition to the new system, while Pro and Teams users will retain their grandfathered pricing. The new structure is designed to better align with typical developer workflows, and existing add-on credits will be converted into dollar amounts for future usage.
