Fans of Gitpod and VSCode IDEs can now enjoy a free AI autocomplete feature, thanks to recent updates aimed at streamlining the extension download and authentication process to match the efficient user experience of local IDEs. The development team dedicated significant time to building the necessary infrastructure in December to improve prompt building, enable cross-OS/IDE support, and track system metrics, laying the groundwork for accelerated development in 2023.
