Localization in Webflow: an update on our progress
Blog post from Webflow
Webflow is preparing to launch its first native localization feature, anticipated for release this fall, which aims to enhance customer websites by allowing them to tailor digital experiences for users in different regions. This initiative is driven by the increasing need for personalized and region-specific content, transcending mere language translation to include customization of images, styles, and content visibility based on locale. The localization tool integrates directly with the Webflow Designer, enabling users to preview and adjust their sites in various languages and regional formats before publishing. Additionally, it supports multiple translation methods, including direct translation within the Designer, integration with existing translation management systems through APIs, machine translation, and partnerships with translation apps. The new feature also offers advanced controls for publishing localized content, such as toggling locale visibility, customizing URLs for better SEO, and including locale-specific SEO metadata. This development is set to provide a seamless localization experience integrated with Webflow’s existing publishing workflows, with early access available for Enterprise customers and a full release announcement forthcoming.
