Summary

Webflow has introduced Source, a forthcoming agent-native platform designed to connect codebases, CMSs, hosting, and marketing tools into shared, governed workspaces for marketers, designers, developers, and AI agents. Source combines direct code access with Webflow’s visual editing capabilities, enabling teams to build, optimize, localize, test, and maintain websites continuously while preserving brand standards, permissions, approval workflows, and audit trails. Its customizable Views provide role-specific interfaces, while configurable agents can proactively identify opportunities such as conversion declines, AI-search optimization needs, and brand-voice issues, then draft work for review. The platform is intended to address limitations of standalone AI site builders and custom tool stacks, which may accelerate initial development but often lack persistent context, marketer-friendly interfaces, collaboration features, and governance. Agencies can use Source with clients’ existing infrastructure, create reusable workflow templates, and offer AI transformation services without requiring platform migrations. Webflow states that its existing platform will continue to be developed alongside Source, which is currently available only through a limited research preview for selected customers and agency partners.
