How no-code gave me the confidence to pursue my startup
Blog post from Webflow
In January 2020, motivated by a New Year's resolution to create using his existing skills, the author embarked on building RankedVote, a web application for conducting ranked-choice voting elections online, despite lacking formal programming knowledge. Leveraging tools like Webflow for the front-end and JotForm for form interactions, the author created a minimum viable product (MVP) that simulated a real web application without writing any code. Initial testing involved reaching out to friends, family, and a school for a voting use case, as well as using Google AdWords to attract users. Although the number of early users was small, their engagement validated the concept, revealing a niche market for online ranked-choice elections and highlighting the potential for automation in the tedious task of ranked-choice calculations.
