WarpStream is Dead, Long Live WarpStream
Blog post from WarpStream
WarpStream has joined forces with Confluent to enhance its data streaming capabilities while continuing to operate in its current form, serving both existing and new customers. With the backing of Confluent, WarpStream plans to expand its services and improve its flagship product, WarpStream BYOC, providing customers with enterprise-grade support and an expanded engineering team. Exciting developments on the horizon include full support for Kafka transactions, cluster-level quotas, a BYOC schema registry, and the introduction of Orbit, which will enable seamless integration with Kafka-compatible sources. Additionally, WarpStream is working on launching GCP and Azure control planes to localize metadata traffic and developing active-active multi-region clusters for improved reliability and performance. The partnership promises to create a more comprehensive platform that leverages the strengths of both WarpStream and Confluent, with further announcements expected at the Current 2024 data streaming event.
