By leveraging features like maintaining a pool of pre-warmed files and using unfinalized files, WarpStream achieved substantial latency improvements, reducing it to 2-3ms from an initial 80ms. These enhancements allow WarpStream to handle 99% of Kafka workloads efficiently without losing its cost-effectiveness, although some limitations, like incompatibility with Lightning Topics, remain.
