Making AI usage more transparent
Blog post from Warp
Warp has introduced updates to enhance the transparency and efficiency of AI usage for its users, focusing on clearer data on credit consumption and improved agent performance. The terminology has shifted from "requests" to "credits," aligning with common developer language and making usage tracking more intuitive. Users can now access detailed AI usage summaries, including credit consumption, model costs, and command execution, both within conversations and on the billing page, allowing for better insight into usage patterns and trends. Additionally, Warp is rolling out two new Auto models—Auto (Performance) and Auto (Efficient)—to help users manage credit consumption effectively by balancing performance with resource usage. These updates aim to optimize user experience by providing tools to make informed decisions on AI usage and are set to be available in the coming weeks, with Warp inviting user feedback via email and their Slack community.
