Vultr Announces Network Security Upgrades

Vultr has announced enhancements to its network security by implementing Resource Public Key Infrastructure (RPKI) and joining the Mutually Agreed Norms for Routing Security (MANRS) initiative, reflecting its commitment to network reliability and collaboration with peering partners. RPKI enables Vultr to encrypt and sign routing advertisements in the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), helping to protect against route hijacks and misconfigurations. By joining MANRS, a coalition with industry leaders like Google and Microsoft, Vultr commits to a set of actions aimed at enhancing internet security, such as preventing the propagation of incorrect routing information and facilitating global coordination. Tomas Lynch, Vultr's Senior Network Architect, emphasized the importance of MANRS compliance for improving security and contributing to a more resilient internet. This move aligns with Vultr's broader goal of ensuring a reliable and trustworthy internet, encouraging other network partners to adopt similar standards. Founded in 2014, Vultr focuses on simplifying infrastructure deployment through its cloud platform, operating from 17 data centers globally.
