Higher Performance 100% NVMe Block Storage Is Here
Blog post from Vultr
Vultr has introduced the Beta of its second-generation Block Storage service, utilizing high-performance, enterprise-class NVMe SSDs for enhanced throughput, IOPS, and latency, initially available in Los Angeles with plans for global rollout. This new service allows users to attach scalable storage volumes up to 10 TB to their virtual machines, offering flexibility, durability, and high availability by maintaining multiple data replicas to prevent single points of failure. The Block Storage v2 is designed to be persistent and adjustable, enabling volumes to be detached and reattached across different VMs within the same region without data loss. Proactive monitoring every ten seconds and diverse power and network infrastructure help ensure minimal impact from potential network or component issues. However, users are reminded that redundancy and availability do not equate to data backups, and Vultr provides separate backup services for comprehensive data protection.
