HackXelerator Winner Spotlight: Kivo Games
Blog post from Vultr
Kivo Games, originally known as Trademind, emerged as the Gaming prize winner at the KXSB AI HackXelerator with an innovative AI-driven recommendation engine designed to assist gamers by analyzing player behavior and suggesting in-game items. The project, led by Oscar Kerscher and Franzi, evolved from a hackathon concept into a full-time startup, departing from typical AI gaming applications that focus on visuals or NPCs. Initially developed for Minecraft, the engine now aims to support a wide range of games, starting with mobile platforms, and is built using open-source tools like XGBoost and DeepSeek, hosted on a home server. The HackXelerator experience provided valuable mentorship that helped the team transition from creating a tool to developing a scalable business, leading to their acceptance into the HPI Venture Builder as they push towards commercialization.
