Building Secure AI Infrastructure: Vultr Advances NVIDIA OpenShell and Confidential Computing
Blog post from Vultr
Vultr and NVIDIA are developing infrastructure security approaches for increasingly autonomous AI agents and large-scale models, focusing on both governing agent behavior and protecting sensitive workloads during execution. NVIDIA’s OpenShell secure runtime and its Reference Architecture combine Vera Rubin NVL72 systems for model workloads, Vera CPUs for agent orchestration, and BlueField-4 DPUs running NVIDIA Sentry to independently monitor activity and enforce policies from a hardware-isolated trust domain. NVIDIA Confidential Computing complements agent controls through hardware-based isolation and cryptographic attestation, with deployment options for dedicated bare metal, containers, and virtual machines. These capabilities are planned across Grace Blackwell and Rubin platforms, with NVIDIA DSX OS intended to support confidential AI infrastructure for cloud providers. Vultr’s investments in NVIDIA Vera Rubin, support for confidential computing, and participation in the Open Secure AI Alliance aim to help enterprises establish clearer security boundaries, visibility, and protection as they deploy AI agents and frontier models in production.
