Voyage AI has secured $20 million in Series A funding led by CRV, with participation from investors like Snowflake and Databricks, bringing total funding to $28 million, to advance the development of RAG and semantic search applications. The company has released new general-purpose embedding models, voyage-3 and voyage-3-lite, which outperform OpenAI’s latest large embedding model in accuracy, cost, and context length, and new rerankers, rerank-2 and rerank-2-lite, that improve accuracy when used with OpenAI's model. These models are available via the Voyage API and marketplaces like AWS and Azure, and integrated into Snowflake Cortex AI, enhancing data analysis capabilities without requiring complex migrations. Users benefit from 200 million free tokens for these models and increased rate limits, as Voyage AI continues to expand its offerings and infrastructure.
