Vonage Silent Authentication Is Now in Beta
Blog post from Vonage
Vonage's Silent Authentication within the Vonage Verify API is now in Beta, offering a seamless "one-click" authentication process by integrating with applications to create a seamless trace in an HTTP request to determine user authenticity. The authentication mechanism eliminates the need for a second step in the OTP industry standard of Two-Factor Authentication and works by checking a subscriber's SIM card to ensure it matches the carrier's records, making it vulnerable to Person-in-the-middle attacks if not implemented correctly. Developers can implement Silent Authentication using synchronous or asynchronous workflows, with examples available for Express.js and Laravel frameworks, providing an alternative to traditional OTP methods for added security in modern applications.
