Get started with End to End Encryption in Vonage Video Client SDKs

The Vonage Video SDK has been updated to include enhanced end-to-end encryption (E2EE), ensuring that data remains private and secure. This feature is now available for iOS, Android, Windows, Linux, and MacOS native SDKs, providing an extra layer of security by encrypting media payload at the client-side. To get started with E2EE in your application, you need to enable the functionality on your developer account, set an encryption secret when creating a session, and specify this secret on clients connecting to that session. The server side can also be configured to use E2EE when creating a video session, while web client side joins require specifying the encryption secret when calling OT.initSession(). Android and iOS clients join end-to-end encrypted sessions by setting an encryption before publishing or subscribing.
