Building a Robocaller Honeypot With Vonage AI Studio - Part 1

Vonage AI Studio is a Low/No code virtual assistant builder that allows developers and non-developers alike to design, create, and deploy Virtual agents with Natural language understanding. It uses the Vonage API account to create customer engagements over voice, SMS, HTTP, and WhatsApp channels. A developer created a honeypot using Vonage AI Studio to combat robo-calls by requiring callers to press a number before forwarding it to them. The developer set up an Express server to confirm if a call comes from a known contact number, and integrated the Fraud Defender in the next post. The agent was then built with nodes that check for the caller's phone number, prompts the caller to enter 42, and records the call if the caller presses 42 or has high fraud confidence. The flow of the agent is defined by connecting nodes and setting up conditions and responses. The developer published the flow and assigned a Vonage phone number, making the honeypot ready to go.
