Blog post from Vonage
Vonage has released the Video Client SDK 2.29, offering new tools designed to enhance developers' control over device management and APIs, thereby improving user experiences in video conferencing applications. Key features include the introduction of the qualityScoreChanged and cpuPerformanceChanged events for real-time monitoring of stream quality and CPU performance, enabling developers to optimize application behaviors dynamically. Additional enhancements include improved device control through the disableAudioInputDeviceManagement property, real-time feedback on video publishing success via the publishVideo callback, and alerts for changed audio input devices and access denials. The release also introduces Single Peer Connection to reduce resource usage and enhance stream quality, while the WebRTC M121 upgrade for native SDKs enhances performance and security. Furthermore, the VP9 codec with Scalable Video Coding (SVC) is now available in Public Beta, offering improved video quality and resiliency in low bandwidth situations. The SDK release 2.29 is available for Vonage Video API customers, with plans to extend it to the Enterprise Environment.
