AI Studio's Conversational AI agents can be used to create self-service interactions for customers, and can also be used to initiate conversations through Outbound Events. To do this, an agent must be set up with a Vonage API account, Airtable database, and Postman tool. The agent will use the Airtable database to retrieve customer information and send messages to their phone numbers using the Vonage API. The process involves setting up the agent in AI Studio, creating a test phone number in Airtable, and then using Postman to retrieve the customer data and send the message. The resulting application can be extended by building out the full user flow in AI Studio, adding information to the Airtable database, and scheduling regular sends with Postman's Collection Runner.
