Summary

In a controlled Voiceflow study of 40 synthetic customer-service return cases run twice per model, Voiceflow Flash 4.2 produced the correct policy action and exact refund amount in 79 of 80 attempts, ahead of Voiceflow Core 4.2 at 73, Claude Sonnet 4.6 at 51, and Claude Haiku 4.5 at 32. Exact refund arithmetic was a major source of failures, including one-cent discrepancies and errors in discounted partial-return calculations, while some models also made incorrect policy decisions or produced outputs that did not meet the required final-line format. The results suggest that automated CX systems should calculate monetary amounts through verified code, validate proposed actions against policy and account state, and reject or escalate unusable responses rather than relying only on model selection. The test used a fixed fictional retail policy, identical prompts and settings, no external tools or retrieval, and mechanically derived expected answers, but it does not establish real-world production performance because the cases were synthetic, not held out, involved no actual customer outcomes or transactions, and have not yet received independent subject-matter review.
