On October 29, a significant spike in traffic was detected by BotID Deep Analysis within a customer's project, initially appearing as legitimate human activity but later identified as a sophisticated bot attack. This new threat involved browser bot networks using advanced techniques to mimic human behavior through real browser automation and carefully crafted profiles, which initially evaded traditional security measures. The system, powered by Kasada's machine learning backend, quickly adapted by analyzing telemetry data, identifying proxy patterns, and reclassifying the sessions as malicious within minutes, all without any manual intervention. This incident underscores the importance of adaptive, machine learning-based detection systems like Deep Analysis, which can identify complex attack patterns by correlating multiple signals, offering a robust defense against increasingly sophisticated bot networks.
