Vantage Launches Usage Budgets: Monitor Tokens and Provider Usage Units Alongside Cost

Vantage has launched Usage Budgets, a no-cost feature that lets customers monitor and receive alerts for consumption measured in native units such as AI tokens, cloud instance-hours, storage gigabytes, and data transfer, alongside its existing cost-based budgets. The feature addresses cases where monetary estimates may not accurately reflect usage because of tiered pricing, prepaid credits, commitments, or differing rates, particularly for AI and cloud services. Users can select a cost report, choose one available usage unit, set targets for budget periods, and configure alerts based on actual or projected consumption; existing budgets remain cost-based unless edited. Usage Budgets support hierarchical structures only when all budgets use the same type and unit, and they can be managed through the Vantage console, CSV uploads, MCP and FinOps agent tools, API, and Terraform.
