Vantage has introduced a new feature called Tag Key Collapsing, designed to streamline cloud resource tagging by consolidating semantically redundant tag keys into a unified standardized key, thereby enhancing consistency in reporting and reducing metadata management complexity. This feature addresses the challenges faced by teams due to inconsistent tagging conventions across different environments and providers, which previously required complex Virtual Tag configurations for accurate reporting and cost allocation. With Tag Key Collapsing, users can map multiple redundant tags to a single preferred key, automatically merging values and assigning priority to ensure a coherent tagging schema across reports and dashboards. This capability, offered at no additional cost to all Vantage customers, simplifies tag normalization and allows for efficient tag management across various cloud providers.
