Vantage Launches SUM and CASE Statement Billing Rules
Blog post from Vantage
Vantage has introduced support for SUM and CASE statements in its Billing Rules, allowing Managed Service Provider (MSP) partners to implement aggregate and conditional billing logic directly within their rule definitions. This enhancement enables partners to calculate fees based on a customer's total costs rather than applying charges to individual cost line items, simplifying the process for applying management fees, margin adjustments, and surcharges. With SUM functions, partners can aggregate costs to apply percentage-based markups on groups of expenses, while CASE statements facilitate conditional logic within a single billing rule, allowing for differentiated rates based on service categories and tiered pricing structures. These billing features are integrated into the Vantage platform at no extra cost and are accessible via the Vantage API and Terraform, offering flexibility and ease of use for MSPs managing cloud expenses. The new capabilities improve accuracy and alignment with service agreements and pricing models by allowing custom markups and discounts to be applied to customer accounts more efficiently and transparently.
