Vantage Launches Network Flow Reports: Increased Visibility into AWS Networking Costs

Vantage has launched Network Flow Reports, a new feature designed to provide enhanced visibility into AWS networking costs by visualizing and measuring the costs associated with individual network flows. This feature allows users to break down transfer charges by specific AWS resources or external services, offering a deeper insight into the cost drivers within a network. Previously, Vantage could only provide high-level cost data through AWS Cost and Usage Reports, but now users can access detailed network flow information, including source and destination details, using a Sankey diagram for visualization. The reports can be customized and filtered by various criteria, such as VPC, Availability Zone, and specific interfaces, enabling users to identify cost hotspots and potentially optimize their network configuration. The integration requires enabling VPC Flow Logs on AWS, and while there is no additional cost for using Network Flow Reports, there are associated costs for CloudWatch and S3 usage. This feature is available to all Vantage customers and aims to improve understanding and management of AWS network expenses.
