Vantage Launches Managed AI Tags for Normalized AI Costs
Blog post from Vantage
Vantage has launched Managed AI Tags, a no-cost feature that automatically normalizes AI cost and usage data from supported providers into a shared `vntg:ai:` tagging schema, enabling organizations to consistently analyze spend by model, model provider, token type, user, region, service tier, and API key. The feature addresses inconsistencies in how direct AI vendors and cloud-hosted services such as AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, and Google Cloud report billing fields, reducing reliance on custom Virtual Tags that can be difficult to maintain as providers change products and pricing. Managed AI Tags work alongside existing provider-specific tags and can be combined with AI Gateway Enrichment or token allocation tools to add metadata absent from billing records. Customers can use the tags in Cost Reports, budgets, and alerts across integrations including Cursor, Anthropic, OpenAI, Anyscale, ElevenLabs, Baseten, Fireworks AI, xAI, AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, and Google Cloud AI, with normalized data available for usage from August 2026 onward.
