Vantage Launches GCP Active Resources and Cost Recommendations

Vantage has introduced a new feature allowing users to view Google Cloud Platform (GCP) active resources and receive cost recommendations for GCP compute resources, enhancing visibility into ongoing costs and enabling more informed decisions about resource usage. Previously, users could only access accrued cost data, but the dynamic nature of cloud services often led to frequent resource changes. The new feature allows customers to create Resource Reports in Vantage, identifying which resources are currently accruing costs and offering rightsizing and commitment recommendations to optimize expenses. This capability is available to all Vantage users with a connected GCP account, without additional costs, although specifics of recommendations may be obscured for those on a free trial. The system syncs resources nightly, ensuring up-to-date information, and users can customize their views by archiving certain cost recommendations or requesting additional resource types to be tracked.
