Vantage Launches Extended Support and End of Life Notifications for Amazon RDS

Vantage has announced the availability of Extended Support Reporting and Recommendations for Amazon RDS, which helps customers manage the support lifecycle of RDS MySQL and PostgreSQL databases more effectively. This new feature offers insights into the support status of database instances, highlighting those incurring extended support fees or nearing end-of-life milestones, allowing users to plan upgrades, optimize costs, and maintain compliance with AWS policies. Vantage's system automatically provides metadata in Active Resource Reports about support types and calendars, helping users to generate reports and filter databases based on support status. The platform also offers cost recommendations, including estimated charges for instances nearing extended support, and guides users on version upgrades to avoid additional fees, with direct links to the AWS console for upgrades. These capabilities are available at no extra cost, although details may be limited during a free trial, and while they currently exclude Amazon Aurora Serverless, there are plans to extend support to other AWS services in the future.
