Summary

Vantage has launched Data Access Policies, a feature for Enterprise customers with contracted Build Hours that lets Organization Owners restrict the cloud cost and resource data individual teams can view across reports, dashboards, active resources, recommendations, exports, APIs, and FinOps tools. Policies can filter data by provider, billing account, account, region, service, or tags, allowing organizations to segment visibility by business unit, product, cost center, or compliance requirements without duplicating reports across separate workspaces. Owners can assign policies to teams, preview their effects, manage them through the UI, API, or Terraform, and audit changes through the Audit Log, while Organization Owners retain unrestricted access. Multiple policies expand a user’s visibility by combining allowed data, and policies work alongside existing workspace and role permissions rather than changing creation or editing rights. Restricted forecasts and anomaly detection are calculated separately for each unique policy combination, potentially consuming additional Build Hours, while some features, including commitment, Kubernetes efficiency, network flow, and savings reports, remain governed by existing RBAC controls rather than these policies.
