Vantage Launches cur.vantage.sh

Vantage has launched cur.vantage.sh, a free online resource aimed at the FinOps community, providing a comprehensive dictionary of AWS billing codes found in the Cost and Usage Report (CUR). This publicly accessible site allows engineers, FinOps practitioners, and analysts to easily search for and understand AWS billing terms, such as those for S3 or Glacier, by offering editorialized explanations. The AWS CUR aggregates charges from over 200 services, resulting in more than 65,000 distinct billing codes, which can be challenging to interpret. Cur.vantage.sh addresses this issue by offering simple definitions for these codes, organized by AWS service, to help users optimize cloud costs. The platform, which is still being expanded, welcomes contributions and suggestions for improvement, while updates are made regularly to include new billing codes as they are introduced by AWS.
