Vantage Launches API Endpoints for Network Flow Reports and Financial Commitment Reports
Blog post from Vantage
Vantage has introduced API endpoints for Network Flow Reports and Financial Commitment Reports, enabling users to programmatically create, update, and manage these reports, which were previously only manageable through the console. This development allows users to automate the analysis of network traffic sources and destinations contributing to cloud costs, as well as to generate a unified view of AWS financial commitments. The new API endpoints, /network_flow_reports and /financial_commitment_reports, are accessible to all users, including those in the free tier, and utilize the Vantage Query Language (VQL) for report customization. This enhancement particularly benefits users managing multiple reports across various accounts or teams by streamlining report maintenance and integration with scripts. Vantage's API now supports various HTTP methods, ensuring immediate reflection of any updates made via the API in the console. Authentication is managed through API tokens, and while Terraform support is forthcoming, users can immediately leverage existing resources such as the API documentation and tutorials to get started.
