Vantage Launches a Forecasted Costs API Endpoint

Vantage has introduced a new Forecasted Costs API endpoint that enables users to programmatically access forecasted cloud expenditures based on current usage trends, enhancing capabilities for developers and FinOps teams who use the Vantage API for cost monitoring and forecasting. Previously, forecasted costs could only be viewed within the Cost Reports UI, limiting automation and external analysis. The new endpoint allows users to send GET requests to retrieve forecasted costs directly from their Cost Reports, with options to specify start and end dates, as well as filters for provider and service. This addition facilitates automated budget tracking and alerting by integrating cost forecasts into existing workflows, while authentication is managed via a Vantage API token. The API is available free of charge to all users, and Vantage uses a time-series model to generate forecasts, considering factors like seasonality and spikes in usage.
