The Vantage Remote MCP Is Now Open Source
Blog post from Vantage
Vantage has unified its Local and Remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) Servers into a single open-source codebase, allowing users to connect AI agents to cloud cost and usage data through a secure interface. This consolidation enables customers to review, extend, and customize the server for their needs, whether running it locally or remotely, and integrates with familiar MCP clients like Claude Desktop and Cursor. The move addresses past limitations where users had to choose between full code visibility with local setup or ease of use with the hosted Remote MCP. Now, teams can leverage the same functionality across deployment modes, enhance their FinOps workflows, and contribute to the codebase. The open-source MCP supports various tools for cost and usage management, and users can authenticate via API tokens for self-hosted deployments.
