Your Claude Subscription Just Got a Remote Computer
Blog post from Upstash
Upstash Box is presented as an isolated, persistent cloud container that extends Claude Code and other supported coding agents by providing a shell, filesystem, Git, headless browser, and optional public URLs without requiring local installation or leaving processes and dependencies on a user’s computer. After installing the Box CLI, configuring an API key, and adding the Upstash skill plugin, users can include “in upstash box” in prompts to have agents create applications, test repositories, build dashboards, run migrations against copied data, and return accessible links or pull requests. The service is designed to let agents install packages, run long builds, host servers, validate work through browser screenshots, and preserve workspaces between sessions, while idle boxes can pause and be deleted when no longer needed. Upstash describes the approach as using an existing Claude subscription rather than requiring a separate agent API key or model bill, and notes that skills are also available for Cursor, Codex, OpenCode, and Zed.
