Introducing Upstash Blob
Blog post from Upstash
Upstash Blob is a newly launched S3-compatible object storage service designed to simplify application file storage and uploads through public or private buckets, a single access token, and regionless architecture. Public files are delivered globally through Cloudflare’s CDN without additional CDN fees, while private files can be shared using expiring signed links. Its SDK supports direct browser-to-storage uploads, allowing developers to define authorization, file type and size restrictions, upload paths, metadata, and completion actions while providing typed integrations for frameworks such as Next.js. The service handles progress reporting, retries, multipart transfers for files over 16 MB, pause and resume functionality, and upload-signature refreshes, keeping file data from passing through application servers. Pricing includes global CDN delivery, charges for storage, bandwidth, reads, writes, lists, and copies, and a free tier offering 1 GB of storage, 10 GB of bandwidth, 10,000 reads, and 2,000 writes per month without requiring a credit card.
