Docs7 vs. Mintlify: a speed benchmark
Blog post from Upstash
A performance comparison of Docs7 and Mintlify across 17 matched documentation pages found that Docs7 generally achieved higher lab-test scores and faster load times across content involving images, video, code references, interactive components, tabs, accordions, file trees, and Mermaid diagrams. In Google PageSpeed Insights testing on September 17, 2026, Docs7 won 33 of 34 mobile and desktop comparisons, with one desktop tie, averaging scores of 80.1 versus 58.9 on mobile and 94.9 versus 88.4 on desktop. DebugBear likewise scored Docs7 higher in all nine mobile and nine desktop page pairs tested from US East. Pingdom load-time tests showed Docs7 loading faster on 14 of 17 pages from San Francisco, five of seven from Frankfurt, and all three pages tested from Tokyo, although Mintlify was faster on selected individual pages. The evaluation used repeated Google Lighthouse tests, median-based results, matched run counts for each host, and separate reporting by service and test location, while noting that these lab measurements represent initial loads and can vary between runs.
