Unleash 5.7: Managing Large Releases, Measuring Lead Time for Changes, Improved Troubleshooting and More
Blog post from Unleash
Unleash 5.7 introduces several enhancements aimed at optimizing feature management and performance tracking, including Dependent Feature Flags that allow for more complex release management by requiring both parent and child flags to be enabled, which is particularly useful for coordinating large releases across teams or regions. The update also debuts a DORA metrics dashboard for Enterprise users to measure DevOps efficiency, starting with Lead Time for Changes, and invites feedback to refine its utility. Improvements to the Playground tool enhance debugging and strategy evaluation by displaying disabled strategies and introducing token-based evaluation access. Enterprise customers can now enforce flag naming patterns with JavaScript RegEx, aiding consistency and clarity, while new Communication Banners in the Admin UI support better user interaction with various styling and intent options, including Information, Warning, Error, and Success types. Additionally, the 'Last Seen' functionality has been upgraded to offer insights into flag usage across different environments, helping identify flags that may need cleanup.
