Unified announces the deprecation of several fields, objects, and list options in its data models, effective November 2025, with a deadline for migration by January 7, 2026. The changes are intended to improve clarity, consistency, and functionality across various models, such as HRIS, Messaging, Accounting, and more. For instance, fields like 'key' and 'type' are replaced with 'slug' and 'format' respectively to avoid confusion, while 'parent_*_id' fields are standardized to 'parent_id'. Multi-field structures, such as 'department' and 'location', now use arrays for greater flexibility, allowing multiple entries. In addition, the 'sig' for webhooks is updated to 'sig256' for enhanced security. Unified provides migration recommendations and emphasizes testing these changes in a development environment to ensure smooth transitions and maintain backward compatibility until the specified date.
