From zero to V1 – what we learned designing the Tyk Governance Hub

Tyk developed the Governance Hub to assist enterprises in regulated industries by creating a governance framework that emphasizes collaboration, transparency, and user-centric design rather than purely technical solutions. The project underscored the importance of understanding governance as an organizational and behavioral issue, not just a compliance matter. By engaging with users, Tyk identified the need for a shared language and user-centered design, focusing on workflows and usability to ensure seamless integration into daily routines. The development process highlighted the significance of establishing a clear minimum viable product focused on security risk, which allowed for further expansion into other areas like compliance and maturity. The Governance Hub aims to empower teams to make informed decisions and foster innovation while maintaining necessary guardrails, moving beyond traditional compliance tools.
