Send a WhatsApp verification code in under 5 minutes
Blog post from Twilio
The Verify API now supports sending WhatsApp verification codes, allowing developers to replace SMS verification with a more popular messaging app in countries like Brasil, Germany, or India. To get started, users need a Twilio account and a Verify Service created in the Twilio console, as well as a WhatsApp account for testing. The new OTP dashboard can be quickly deployed using Twilio's Code Exchange, allowing developers to send and check WhatsApp verification messages with ease. Additionally, the dashboard provides options for detecting if WhatsApp is installed on a device and sending verifications through multiple channels, including international telephone input and email verification.
