Voice Calls 101: CNAM, Shaken/Stir, and Voice Integrity Explained

Voice calls have evolved significantly over the last decade, but malicious actors continue to exploit this advancement for their gain. To combat this, several tools and services have been put in place to rebuild trust and reliability of voice calls. These include CNAM (caller ID name), which allows businesses to brand landline calls with a business name in the caller ID field, SHAKEN/STIR, which adds an authentication layer to the telephony network to combat caller ID spoofing, and Voice Integrity, which helps remediate spam labels on phone numbers and monitor phone number reputation.
