Twilio Video Media SDK Powers Smarter Customer Engagement
Blog post from Twilio
Twilio has launched its Video Media SDK in public beta, a server-side tool that connects Twilio Video Rooms to backend systems as secure virtual participants, enabling direct access to separate live audio and video tracks. The SDK is designed to integrate real-time video with AI capabilities such as transcription, sentiment analysis, computer vision, and multimodal assistants while preserving context across messaging, voice, and video channels. Twilio positions the product for regulated and security-sensitive uses, including HIPAA- and GDPR-related healthcare workflows, remote identity verification, field inspections, content moderation, and server-side quality checks that do not affect device performance. Early adopter GLOBO Language Solutions is using the SDK to support compliant healthcare interpretation and experiment with AI tools, while Twilio describes the release as part of a broader strategy to combine AI agents, human expertise, and real-time communications in customer engagement.
