This Perl Helper Library for Twilio is an open-source contribution by Scott Wiersdorf that provides a simple way to make phone calls from any computer to any phone at any time, with just two lines of code. The library was created in under 5 hours and takes advantage of Scott's experience with REST services, allowing him to quickly understand how Twilio worked. Scott plans to continue building helper libraries for Twilio, including a general-purpose web-to-phone reminder system and a broadcast phone message system for his kids' school. He also envisions using Twilio in home automation systems to provide voice command recognition and action dispatcher capabilities.
