How to Enable Branded Calling with Twilio
Blog post from Twilio
Twilio's Branded Calling feature, currently in public beta, aims to enhance the visibility of businesses during phone calls by displaying verified business information on recipients' mobile phones. This can address the issue of low answer rates caused by unrecognized numbers. The platform offers Basic and Enhanced Branded Calling options, with the Basic version showing only the business name, while the Enhanced version includes the business name, logo, and call reason. Setting up either option requires a Twilio account, phone number, and approved Business Profile and Voice Integrity instance, with additional requirements for Enhanced Branded Calling, such as SHAKEN/STIR attestation and a signed Letter of Authorization. Both types are usable within the United States on T-Mobile and Verizon networks and require adherence to content and branding guidelines. Once configured, businesses can improve customer trust and call answer rates, though maintaining a good caller reputation is crucial to avoid call rejection by carriers.
