Twilio Segment has launched new Analytics-Swift and Analytics-Kotlin SDKs that outperform their predecessors, Analytics-iOS and Analytics-Android, in key areas such as thread-safety, resource and battery efficiency, data integrity, and extensibility. These new SDKs are designed to be lightweight and minimize app impact, even under extreme conditions, and introduce a new Plugin architecture built with modern languages to support the increasing popularity of Swift and Kotlin. Performance benchmarks reveal significant improvements, with Analytics-Swift being 15 times faster than Analytics-iOS and Analytics-Kotlin twice as fast as Analytics-Android, while also achieving zero data loss compared to the older versions. The new SDKs demonstrate better memory and CPU usage, reduced network calls, and a more efficient handling of large data volumes, highlighting their superior scalability and reliability.
