Gmail to Retire Domain & IP Reputation in Postmaster Tools
Blog post from Twilio
Gmail has announced the retirement of its Domain and IP Reputation features in Google Postmaster Tools, effective September 30, 2025, shifting focus from sender reputation to compliance with new sender requirements. This change is attributed to security concerns, as revealing IP and domain reputation posed a potential risk of exploitation by spammers. Instead, Gmail will introduce new data points in the updated v2 dashboard aimed at providing more actionable insights for senders, expected to launch by the end of 2025. While this transition may create challenges for those reliant on existing reputation metrics to address email deliverability issues, Gmail emphasizes the importance of monitoring email metrics such as authentication health, spam complaint rates, and recipient engagement to maintain positive sending practices. In the interim, professionals are advised to leverage DMARC reports, monitor negative signals, and focus on personalized, targeted campaigns to adapt to the evolving landscape of email deliverability.
