Configurable Sending in the EU: Now in GA
Blog post from Twilio
Twilio has announced the general availability of its Configurable Sending feature within the European Union, which allows users to send outbound emails from EU-based servers, ensuring compliance with GDPR regulations and enhancing data privacy. This development aims to improve delivery rates, reduce latency, and build trust with EU-based recipients by providing a secure and efficient way to manage email campaigns within Europe. Previously available in beta via API, the feature now enables direct management of traffic streams through Twilio's Console without requiring a new account, allowing users to create EU subusers and IPs within their existing accounts. Event data generated from European sending is currently stored globally, but Twilio plans to introduce full regional data residency in 2025 as part of its commitment to enhanced compliance beyond GDPR standards.
