TrialX: Unlocking Clinical Trials with Twilio API
The current clinical trial matching process is inefficient, with four out of five trials delayed due to participant recruitment challenges. TrialX was founded in 2008 to address this issue, and its co-founders used the Twilio API to create an application that connects patients and clinical trials. The app, Ask Dory, allows patients to easily find trials near them, and the integration with Twilio enabled the team to add click-to-call functionality, making it even easier for patients to connect with trial doctors. The Twilio technology provided reliability, flexibility, and ease of use, as well as reporting capabilities that are valuable in assessing the impact of the tool. TrialX has continued to create value using Twilio, building apps such as Call-E that enables proactive notifications from doctor's offices to remind patients about upcoming appointments or screenings.
